Dragon King

Dragon kings were originally from ancient Chinese mythology called the Lung-Wang. They were powerful creatures from Taoism. Lung-Wang are for the most part like other Chinese dragons. They can transform into humans (like all Chinese dragons in some legends) and often lived in underwater palaces in the four oceans.

Lung-Wang are ruled by Yuan-shi, a god of the Tien Tsun pantheon. Yuan shi is the son of the creator god, Pan Gu. Yuan Shi has control over the salvation of humanity.

Dragon kings have authority over funerals and rain. When mistakes are made during funerals, dragon kings are often asked for help to assure their descendants' prosperity. When there is a draught, dragon kings are asked for help.

There are two kinds of Lung-Wang. There are T'ien Lung and Fu Tsang Lung. T'ien Lung is the Celestial Dragon and is the guardian of the gods. Fu Tsang Lung is the Dragon of Hidden Treasure.

In Japanese mythology Ryo-Wo is the king of dragons and the god of the sea.
