Shadow

In Dungeons and Dragons, shadows were undead monsters, able to drain the strength from people. If a person's strength is completely drained, they become a shadow.


In Dragon Quest an undead warrior called the Demon Knight appeared as a shadow, and in the later Dragon Quest games shadows were actual monsters fought appearing as a shadow of a winged demon with glowing eyes.
