Dragon: the Quest: Cards 2

Chimera

Translation: Wyvern

Image: This image is from enix.com.

Description: Chimeras are basically giant vultures. Some kinds can breathe fire. Wyverns are actually two-legged flying dragons, and Chimera actually means She-Goat.

Rules: Characters with flying can only be blocked by other characters with flying.

This monster might actually be a little too powerful. It is the biggest flying monster so far, and it has no restrictions. The biggest reason I don't feel like weakening it is because damage early game just helps you get threshold faster. (See the Dragonlord to know why threshold is so good).

Dragonlord

Translation: Possibly a better translation would have been King Dragon.

Image: I scanned this image myself. It came with the goodies I got when I subscribed to Nintendo Power to get Dragon Warrior for free.

Description: The Dragonlord was completely magic resistant and he had very powerful Firebreath. If his stats were converted to be for Dragon Warrior 3, he would deal more damage than Zoma.

Rules: The dragonlord works about the same way as the other dragons, but it will be one of few characters with perminant magic resistance.

Even though the Dragonlord has wings he cannot fly. I decided he would be overwhelmingly powerful with flying, and he is probably to big to fly anyway.

Dragon Warrior

Translation: Hero of Dragon Warrior 1. He was never called the Dragon Warrior in Japan.

Image: This image is from dragonsagadensetsu.com.

Description: The Dragon Warrior pretty much set the standard for how future heroes would function in Dragon Warrior games. They are strong and learn virtually any kind of magic, but they aren't as good with magic as Wizards or Priests.

Rules: His abilities represent the Begirama (Hurtmore) and Behoimi (Healmore) spells. The Begirama spell was known as Firebane in later Dragon Warrior games and could attack multiple enemies, but I decided making it target one character would be more fitting in this case.

Some artifact and character abilities count as magic, such as the Dragon Warrior's abilities. Abilities of this kind may not be used on characters with magic resistance.

Drakee

Translation: In Japan they were actually called Doraki, but this is still a good translation considering they call Dragons Doragons.

Image: This image is from enix.com.

Description: Drakees are the monsters you fight after Slimes.

Rules: Summoning allows you to play an extra character after it comes into play. You may play the other character any time during your turn, but the ability is only used the turn it comes into play.
