NewsDragonlord's Magic Expansion (4.30.2004)The Dragonlord is the self-proclaimed best Magic™ card. While sitting on his throne last week he made some Magic™ cards, such as three of them based on himself, one based on the hero, and one based on Rubiss. He decided that these would make the "best Magic set ever." When asked whether or not five cards would be enough for an entire expansion to Magic: the Gathering he replied, Of course. After you get my cards for your deck, I don't think you'll need anything else. Now leave. The first card he made based on himself was quite impressive. When tapped, it not only destroys a land and Ancestral Recalls, but it also wins the game.
Although his card is impressive at a first glance, many players argue that it is far too expensive to realistically use in any constructed tournament. One Magic player says, Ravager Affinity and Goblin Bidding would beat anyone playing with this card before you could even cast it. I would consider using it if it was one red mana less to cast. When asked why he made three cards of himself, the Dragonlord replied, I like my human form even though it is weak. The real cards representing who I really am are the two of my "True Self". And you'll need both cards that represent my True Self at the same time in order to use it. You didn't really think one card could show you how powerful I really am did you?
In contrast to the Dragonlord cards, the Hero card was made to be as useless as possible. It is a one mana cost creature with the ability, "Tap, sacrifice Dragon Warrior: Flip a coin." Apperantly nothing happens whether you get heads or tails. The most famous Magic Deck store, The Magic Deck, will be giving out representations of the Dragonlord card starting May 1st. The cards will have the fine print This is for entertainment purposes only, and will be given out to the 9 first people to use buy it now. |
