| News: Is this the End of Dragon Warrior? (2.01.2003) |
Jonny: It's nice that you have been making lots of things for your site, but you should just let it die in dignity. Soon all that will be left of it is a link to the Dragon Quest News Network. Me: What do you mean? Jonny: Dragon: The Quest looks good, but the game will never work, you will never finish it, and no one would ever play it anyway. Me: Actually I have finished enough to play it, and I have played many games with a couple friends. It works, but I admit there might be some tremendous improvements possible. I made Dragon: the Quest for myself, and I decided I should share it with others. I always wanted to make my own card game and now I have the technology. If no one else wants to try it out that's their problem. Why do you think my site will die? Jonny: No new games have been released. Enix of America is out of business. Our Dragon Warrior days are over. Me: First of all, Enix of America is no longer needed, since Enix of Japan and Square will soon be one company. Square will handle Enix sales in America. It is true that Dragon Quest 4 PSX, Dragon Quest Monsters 1&2 PSX, Torneko 3 PS2, and Torneko: The Last Hope GBA were not released in the US... but Enix of Japan has mentioned that they plan on trying harder to boost Dragon Warrior sales in the US in the future. It is safe to say Dragon Quest 8 is coming to the US. Second of all, when I made my site I thought Dragon Warrior was dead. It was originally a gallery of animated gifs. Third of all, my site is far from dying. I admit that my site has less updates than usual, but it is far more popular than than ever. It gets over 1,000 individual visitors a day. Most of the visitors go to the Comics section, not the news. I am afraid I am very busy with friends and going to college so I won't be able to make as many updates as usual, but I will try to make 1 to 2 comics per week. |
