Dragon Warrior Legend
That's right folks. There's never been an animated Drakee in a Dragon Quest game... Until now! I made some original Dragon Quest 1 animations to help Dragon Warrior Legend. More original and ripped animations are still needed. Go to his message board to let RPGking know if you are interested. Members can view the rest of the animations I made.

Strategy Guides Needed
If you have any extra strategy guides with lots of artwork (especially from Japan), or if you can make high quality scans of them, then please email me at mageslime@yahoo.com. The strategy guide I need most is the Official Dragon Warrior 1&2 GBC Strategy Guide.

High quality means that the scanned images (even if small) should be at least 260 x 210, and the resolution should be at least 300 dots per inch.

I might be willing to pay for the strategy guides, but I have very limited resources and I would prefer to pay using paypal if possible.

Animation Maker
The Dragon Warrior Legend website has released an Animation Maker which can be used to capture animations of monsters in Dragon Quest III and Dragon Quest VI for the SNES (SFC). You will need the game ROM and ZSNES to use this program. The programmer, RPGKing, needs several monster animations from Dragon Quest III.

Want to help? Read the following!
  • Read the read me file! I advise you to print it out if possible for quick reference.
  • Make sure the images are named image, image2, image3, etc. The first image of every animation must be "image". ZSNES names the screen shots correctly, but if you take several animations at once, you will have to rename the files of the later animations.
  • Make sure the first and last image of each animation is the pre-animated regular monster image.
  • Also don't forget to change the details in the anim file. It is basically a kind of text document. The number of images in the animation and the name of the monster must be changed.
  • Use the DOS version of ZSNES.
  • Make sure to keep the text files when sending the animations to him, and make sure to keep up with the list of completed animations.
  • Email the animations to RPGking at rpgking@hotmail.com

Dragon Quest I.II Save-State Editor
Cynsob and Zeke D have made a Dragon Quest I.II Save-State Editor for the Super Famicom remake. Eventually it will work with all the Super Famicom Dragon Quest games. So far you can use it to edit character stats and levels.

Download it here. Send bugs to mgardner@spamcop.net.

Never Ending Scroll
I believe Never Ending Scroll might be one of the few finished Dragon Warrior fan games. I have posted about this game before, but the old website seems to be gone. If you get a chance to play it please write a review and email me it at mageslime@yahoo.com.

Princess Alena's Adventure II
DiasFlec has started to work on this RPGMaker game based on Dragon Quest IV. Go here to see the progress made.

Dragon Warrior Quest Review
Rubius and Flash made this online Dragon Warrior game for BYOND a while back. Here is a review for Dragon Warrior Quest by Green Jedi (who is working on a Dragon Warrior game of his own):

The Best Online Dragon Warrior Game (4/5)

I my opinion, this has to be the best Dragon Warrior game on BYOND. I have also played Dragon Warrior Online and Rebirth, which are both excellent games, but Dragon Warrior Quest comes out on top because of it's versatility. You can start in one of two towns, and the adventure is quite different for each one. The game itself is very well balanced. You gain a fair amount of gold and exp in battles, and level ups and stats are also balanced nicely. But the one thing that makes this one game stand out from all the others is classes. You can start out as one of 7 different classes. Each one has it's own pros and cons and makes for a different experience for the first half of the game. As you play, you will discover the Dharma Shrine, where you can actually CHANGE YOUR CLASS! Just like in Dragon Warrior 3, you have to be at least level 20 in your current class to change, but that doesn't mean you should! Your stats drop by half every time you do. As you proceed through the game, you will discover ANOTHER SHRINE! This one allows you to change class into one of the game's 11 specialty classes! But only if you have mastered (that is, reached level 26) some of the basic classes. Each is unique and has it's own signature powers.

Here's a breakdown of the game's features:
  • Dragon Warrior-style menus
  • TONS of spells and skills
  • HUD (that's the Dragon Warrior-style windows in the battle screen)
  • Sticks to 8-bit graphics, giving it the real DW feel
  • Lots of enemies and bosses
  • Lots of class-specific weapons, armor and even accessories
  • Very little bugs (and those that do pop up are fixed pronto)
  • You really need to EXPLORE to find stuff, it's not just in the next cave.
  • Some areas will be familiar (though still challenging) to DW veterans
  • The plot is pretty good, even though there's none at the beginning.
Here's some of it's cons:
  • No party system
  • No multi-monster battles
  • No vehicles (no ship, bird, carpet or anything)
