Dragon Warrior 3 Artwork
RPGamer added Dragon Warrior 3 artwork, screen shots, and movies.

Now the merchants are called dealers. Unlike the original NES version of Dragon Warrior 3, dealers will now gain some map-screen spells. There is also a new class, the thief. Players will still be able to choose the hero to be female, so hopefully this time she will not be referred to as a he. I have a feeling the female hero can get a puff puff, just like the male hero.

E3 Convention Photos
Here are a couple Dragon Warriorish photos the GIA has:

Dragon Warrior Legend
Dragon Warrior Legend (a fan-made game based on Dragon Warrior) is now about 20% done. RPGking has programmed all but 2 spells from Dragon Warrior 4, and there will be several from Dragon Quest 6. Some spells might require optional sidequests in order to be obtained. Several bugs have also been fixed. RPGking is considering releasing a second demo with less bugs.

Monsters will not join the party, like in Dragon Warrior 5 and 6, but the heroes can destroy a monster and capture their soul into a crystal. Dragon Quest 1&2 Translation
FearGaia has posted a message at Dustin's Dragon Warrior & Dragon Quest Shrine to update us on the progress of translating the Dragon Quest 1&2 remake for the Super Famicom:

Just figured someone may want to know about the near completion of the Dragon Quest 1&2 remix translation. This is a quality project, and is currently in the ASM stages. Unlike the later Enix games, this one is not quite as nasty... and we forsee no problems. The variable width stuff is being rewritten, two line item names are being programmed in, yadda yadda :) It's all technical ASM, so if you have any technical questions regarding it... email me & I'll try to pass them on to Byuu.

I've teamed up with Xcalibur Translations to bring you this project, and SpSpiff has 100% completed the translation itself. I'm tripple checking things and hopefully I can insert things into the ROM once Byuu is finished with his magic :) For updates, please visit: www.unstable.f2s.com

I cannot give a date as to when this will be done, so please keep that in mind when emailing. Ciao!

New Monsters in Dragon Warrior Monsters 2!
Jimeous has collected all the monster pictures for Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. There is a new form for the Dragonlord, 6 new monsters of each family, and a new family (the sea family).

Here is the new form of the Dragonlord called Eternal King Dragon. This is confusing since the second form was his "True Form." The Dragonlord's human form was actually a trick that many King Dragons in Asian mythology had. The Dragonlord's second form was his "True Self" and was translated as such in Dragon Warrior. The Dragonlord ended up creating a cliche in several RPG's to come that bosses have more than one form (almost always for no reason).

Eternal King Dragon

There are the 6 new slimes: Pearl Slime, Tropical Slime, Clown Slime, Angel Slime, Gran Slime, and Wonder Egg. [Translated by Mirutamoor]. That's right, still no red slimes :P

New Dragon Warrior Fan Sites

Is that the Male or Female Loto?
The GIA has gotten a hold of the box art for the Game Boy Color remake of Dragon Warrior 3. It isn't clayish computer graphics like the Dragon Warrior Monsters and Dragon Warrior 1&2, instead it's anime (not obvious anime, but oh well).

5.3.2001

Dragon Quest 1&2 Translation
Xcalibur Translations has finished their job with translating Dragon Quest 1&2 for the Super Famicom. Fortunately BioEncyst has taken over the translation duties. Dragon Quest X
Focus is creating two Dragon Quest clones: Dragon Quest X, a PC version of Dragon Quest 1&2 for the Super Famicom; and an original Dragon Quest game (which should have a website up soon). They are coded with VB6 and uses DX7. So far for Dragon Quest Xthe three Tantegel Castle maps, the overworld map, and the first two town maps are done. The battle system hasn't been coded yet since he hasn't found a good enough damage formula.

Dragon Warrior Wallpapers
I decided to make these 3 tiled wallpapers:
WallpaperSlime Wallpaper - A dark tiled wallpaper of large slimes. (2kb)
WallpaperSlime Wallpaper II - A light tiled wallpaper of large slimes. (2kb)
WallpaperDragonlord Auditions - A tiled wallpaper of the Dragonlords. No, I don't know why Yoda didn't make it. (30kb)
