Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished All for Frogurt. This may very well be the exciting conclusion to the hero getting revived comics.

5.29.2002

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Issue 81: Time to Save the Princess!

Dragon Warrior VIII
Page 26 of the June 2002 issue of Game Informer:

The buzz is Enix is looking for a famous developer who can spruce up Dragon Warrior VIII to Final Fantasy X-esque production values, if not surpass them...

Dragon Warrior Interview
Pendy of the Dragon Warrior and Dragon Quest News Network interviewed Justin Lucas, the product manager of Enix of America. Still no feedback about Dragon Warrior fan game legality, but he did comment on fan translations:

Our policy is...it's not that we don't like it, it's our intellectual property. We have to protect it. We love the fans. We think it's great getting on the internet and seeing Dragon Warrior fan sites and Dragon Warrior art work that people have drawn themselves. It's great. But it's our intellectual property and we have to protect it legally. If we don't there's ramifications to it. It's a very fine line and it's something we keep our eye on pretty closely. And if we think that it's gone too far, then we'll put a stop do it.

Dragon Warrior Cartoons
The Kingdom of Alefgard has put up the first two episodes of the Dragon Warrior cartoon for download.

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Issue 80: Random Act of Violence More Star Wars stuff that I also thought of a while back. I actually saw the new movie and it wasn't too bad. I could probably make a whole new comic series to make fun of it though. The princess falls in love with Anakin, the most evil and annoying character in the entire movie. It didn't seem too well thought out, but the special effects were good.

Dragon Warrior IV Cancellation
Enix finally wrote an open letter about the Dragon Warrior IV cancellation:

Since our official cancellation of Dragon Warrior IV for the PlayStation on March 4, 2002, we have been reading your thousands of message board posts and emails expressing anger, disappointment and hope. Collectively, you've shown the same vitality and passion that convinced us to bring Dragon Warrior VII to North America, which we did to great critical acclaim.

Unlike Dragon Warrior VII, however, the collective passion of the fans and energies of the staff of Enix America combined can't reverse the course of history. In fact, we had the translation staff in place and truthfully, we were excited and enthusiastic about bringing the title over -- after all, we are game fans, too. We were set to roll. Then the unthinkable happened. The Japanese developer of Dragon Quest IV, Heartbeat, unilaterally decided to close its videogame development operations. Given the complexity of the PlayStation version of the game, it is virtually impossible for anyone but Heartbeat to integrate the translated text, revise game code and generally localize the game for the North American marketplace.

In the end, to the great disappointment of everyone concerned, the Dragon Warrior IV project had to be cancelled. And that's the truth. We hope that you would understand the predicaments we faced in making this extremely difficult and disappointing decision. We truly regret this situation and apologize to all the disappointed Dragon Warrior fans. We request your understanding and renewed support as we move forward with our new products for 2002 and beyond.

Sincerely,

Enix America Inc.

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Episode LXXIX: Attack of the Random Encounters! Yes, L is 50 in roman numberals. This time I really did decide to gear the comic to Star Wars just cuz of the new movie. It doesn't even make sense.

Top Webcomics Position
Dragon Warrior Comics just needs 12 more votes to be back in 2nd place! Also if you vote you can see my special Episode LXXIX banner! Vote here!

Top Dragon Warrior Websites
Sorry for taking so long but I finally got the Dragon Warrior Top Websites back. It was destroyed. Everyone was deleted so they will have to join again. If you use a banner make sure the file size is less than 30KB, and the dimensions should be 468x60. You can vote for me at the bottom of my homepage.

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Issue 78: The First Flashback! Since black and white is for movies I decided 8 bits (a downgrade in grapics) can be used for a flashback in the comic! Yay! So yes, that is the Dragonlord... in 8 bits.

Also you might notice this comic has a special Star Wars™ theme. That was quite a nice coincidence considering the new movie came out earlier today. I didn't actually do it intentionally though. I thought of this comic a long time ago.

Most importantly three of my comics are now in German! Go here to see!

Donated Comics
Red Kirby finished See Issue 7.

5.12.2002

Torneko No Daibouken 3
Looks like Torneko No Daibouken 3 for PlayStation 2 (the most secret Dragon Quest game ever) will come out around July 25 2002. Perhaps Enix is done making games for the PSX. Even if they are this will be one Dragon Quest game I doubt we will ever see in English.

Dragon Quest 1&2 Translation for SNES
RPG One has finished translating Dragon Quest 1 and is looking for Beta Testers for Dragon Quest 2. Go here if you are interested.

5.10.2002

I have finished Issue 77: Why is the Hero a Dragon Warrior? Matzie and other translaters of www.plastic-games.de has offered to translate my comics into German. (I don't think any are finished yet though.)

Donated Comics
Red Kirby finished See Issue 6.

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Issue 76: Is White Mage Really A Girl? I should have shown this before. Here is a He-Man review and here's a Realplayer He-Man show up for download (only 6.7 MB). Feel free to watch it if you feel like torturing yourself and seeing that Black Mage was right about Orko.

Donated Comics
Red Kirby finished Issue 3: Gotta Squeeze Every Penny

Poor Sales = No Dragon Warrior 4
At Sakura-Con Enix confirmed that Dragon Warrior 4 will not come to the U.S. because of poor Dragon Warrior 7 sales. Go here for more information. (Actually that's about it). There was NO mention of any other reasons.

5.4.2002

Dragon Warrior Comics
I have finished Issue 75: Black Mage Meets Orko! and Was the Hero Revived? (Bonus*) I was told the Orko jokes on my site have been overdone so I tried to make this comic about something else, but it ended up too long (and I liked it that way) so I had to split it into two comics. Oh well.

*The bonus comics are evil advertisements of doom.

Donated Comics
Red Kirby has started a new series! So far it looks like it's about Dragon Warrior 1, like my comic. But it's very original. See Issue 1: Go Save the World! and Issue 2: Gayness in Medevil Times

The Emblem of Roto Manga
Chrissy has translated Chapter 14, and now all the chapters she finished are online:
Save Dragon Warrior IV
Another way to help Dragon Warrior 4 might be to send Enix snail mail. They might respect that a lot more than emails. Just sent it to...
